About this Blog

Boredom. Pure boredom.

Actually, that’s not why I chose to start this blog. But there are a few reasons. There are a lot of food blogs out there. Many of them are about baking. Some of the blogs are very good and well executed. The products are nice, the pictures taken look professional, and the recipes are done well. The majority of food blogs, however, suck. On a frustrating level. I don’t want to see your terrible recipe for a S’More’s tart using a pre-made graham cracker crust, box of instant jello pudding, and giant Jet-Puffed marshmallows placed half-hazardously on the top and broiled in the oven. Yes, I know that’s a very specific example! It sticks out in my mind like hemorrhoids!

I’ve worked in the food industry, and I know that spoils me a little. It raises my expectations on all levels, including cooking at home. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing. A little extra effort will make all the difference, even when it comes to the simple things.

But this isn’t just a food blog. It’s my blog. I intend to share events in my life, ranging from stupid to epic. There are a lot of people who don’t understand the daily grind of the military life, and I believe I can shed a little light on that. I think, too, that being a relatively new soldier at my age (I don’t dare say maturity level) lends a different perspective as well, especially when observing those that are 10 years younger than myself. They are, indeed, a different generation.

Oh, and boredom 😉

So dig in, read up, and enjoy my commentary on life and food!

Oh, and try to be patient as I reacquaint myself with a little HTML. It may look a little rough at first.
